News : Swap Meet
Ferdi's 5th annual Swap Meet turned out to be a great success, as always. The crowd rocked up from about six in the morning. The weather was overcast and quite cold until about noon when the sun eventually peeked out. Participants in the swap section came from as far as Piet Retief , Newcastle , Nelspruit , Vereeniging and Roodeport. Some visitors from Germany also made it this year.
Most of the local clubs were represented and approximately 120 cars were on display. The level of detail and all the new ideas were stunning. It is evident that the new generation of aircooled VW's have their own take on style and mods. Check out the pictures section to get an idea of what was on display.
We also celebrated the 25th anniversary of Jacaranda Beetle Club and the 60th of VW in South Africa.
Trade in parts, food and drinks was brisk and most of the good deals were made early in the morning already. If you want those hard to find parts make sure and arrive at the crack of dawn next year. Siggy from Siggi Wurstbude ran out of those good sausages just after lunch!
